It was a foggy start to the day as our U12 girls ventured to Cobham RFC for their first festival of the season, but the Guilberley girls were ready for the challenge!

Our first match saw us take on Surrey, Ruts & Sparkles, a very experienced team who were quick off the mark, scoring an early try. The Guilberley girls quickly adapted, recognising they needed to close their opponents down and not give them the space to use their speed. A great learning opportunity and some fantastic determination on show!

Next up were Ashford RFC. Things were a little crazy to start with, but once the girls settled, they got straight back to the job in hand! Strong defensive work, some excellent tackling and rucking skills, and several great turnovers showed just how much their game is developing.

Our final game of the festival was against our good friends Dorking RFC. A really enjoyable match, played in great spirits, with tries celebrated in true girls' rugby style... with cartwheels!

Of course, it wouldn't be a girls' festival without cartwheels, backflips and plenty of giggles! ❤️

A fantastic morning of rugby, teamwork, learning and, most importantly, having fun!

We’re back training this Wednesday and Sunday at Camberley before taking on our local rivals, Guildfordians, the following week.

Well done girls – a brilliant start to the season!
