
The Junior Academy Blacks welcomed Twickenham to Camberley on a very muddy pitch after heavy rain just before kick‑off. Thankfully the skies cleared in time for the match, though the conditions made for a real test of determination and teamwork.
Twickenham managed to break through Camberley's defense to open the scoring with a converted try in the 12th minute, putting the visitors ahead early.
Camberley showed great resilience and quickly hit back with two tries in succession to take the lead, even though the conversions just missed. Twickenham responded with another try to leave the score 10-12 to Twickenham at half time.
The second half started strongly for Camberley with 2 tries, one of which was successfully converted taking Camberley into the lead 22-12 however, Twickenham came back strong in the latter part of the second half just to snatch the win from Camberley in the dying minutes.
Although the final score read 29–22 in Twickenham’s favour, the Blacks can be proud of their performance. They showed fantastic spirit, and gave the home crowd plenty to cheer about. The muddy conditions made it tough, but the Blacks never gave up and played with heart right to the final whistle.
A special mention goes to Oliver M, who was nominated Player of the Match by Twickenham.
