Three games, three wins! Another fantastic performance from the Camberley U14s today as the lads continued their unbeaten start to the season with an impressive 59–22 victory.
Facing a side that has got the better of us in previous encounters, the boys showed just how far they've come as a squad. From the first whistle, the energy, commitment and physicality were outstanding, and we thoroughly deserved the result.
There was some brilliant, fluid attacking rugby on display, with great passing, strong running and some fantastic tries. Defensively, the tackling was superb, with players putting their bodies on the line for one another. Our scrum was once again dominant, and the spirit and togetherness throughout the squad were a real highlight.
We also saw a few players making their Blue team debuts, all of whom stepped up brilliantly and looked right at home. A special mention must also go to Iwan, who earned his 50th Camberley cap today! A fantastic milestone and thoroughly deserved.
Of course, there's always room for improvement. A little bit of white-line fever crept in towards the end, with a few opportunities going begging when an extra pass might have made the difference. Something to work on at training on Tuesday!
What has impressed us most as coaches this season isn't just the results, but the attitude, maturity and leadership the lads are showing. The standards they're setting, the effort they're putting into training and the way they're supporting each other are increasingly player-led. It's wonderful to see them developing not just as rugby players, but as young men.
As a coach, it's a genuine pleasure to watch and coach this group of lads. Their enthusiasm, team spirit, determination and willingness to work for each other make every Sunday something to look forward to. We're incredibly proud of them all.
A massive thank you, as always, to our parents and supporters. Your commitment and encouragement play a huge part in everything we're building together.
Unfortunately, today's victory was overshadowed by a nasty injury to Harrison in the dying moments of the match. Everyone at Camberley wishes him a speedy recovery. Hopefully we'll see him back out there soon, but only when he's fully recovered and been given the all-clear.
Three wins from our first three fixtures. Plenty more to come, but what a start to the season!
Up the Camberley U14s!
