With bottom side Purley John Fisher unable to field a side Cam claim the League Title before lunch

So with just 2 games to go the Black and Ambers are crowned League Champions with the withdrawal of todays opposition late on Friday leaving Cam with a 13 point lead and just 2 games to play.
Whilst this is a less than satisfactory manner in which to win the title we should also feel for PJF who have clearly struggled this season with a lack of players and a mounting injury list and we hope that they can successfully turn things around in the coming seasons - we all know what they must be suffering at this time.
However let us not allow this to detract from a fabulous season for Camberley, a young side who show no fear and have played such exciting rugby pretty much in every game.
Currently their record shows that they have won 16 out of the 19 games played, scoring 721 points and in 14 games have scored 4 or more tries.
This has made supporting the side an absolute joy particularly for those who have also previously endured the clubs steady decline from the heights of what is now National 1 to the Surrey Leagues last season.
In my opinion this is largely due to the foresight of the Executive committee who effectively reactivated the Rugby Committee and appointed Paddy O'Meara to its Chair having agreed that the club needed a strong 1st XV if it wanted to continue to develop its already very successful mini and youth rugby.
As an ex first team player of yesteryear Paddy's drive and enthusiasm has been critical in putting together an exceptional coaching team with DoR Gareth calling the shots supported by Alun and JJ, who look after the forwards and backs respectively. Interestingly all of them have played for Camberley and have brought their wealth of experience to this young squad and those regular supporters are only too aware of the impact they have had over the last 2 seasons
The performances and therefore the results have also benefited from having a very consistent squad of players and this strength in depth is also seen in the results of the 2s side who have performed well in the new Surrey Championship Reserve League.
Today the boys can enjoy a well earned pre match lunch although knowing you guys I am sure that you would still much prefer to be doing what you really enjoy doing on a lovely sunny Saturday - scoring lots of tries.
So on behalf of all of your supporters massive Congratulations to all of you who have been made this happen - from Paddy and the coaches, Dinger for looking after the kit, Sam and his great physio support (despite him having some allegiance to 'The Wreck') and everyone else who have helped the 1s achieve this success but most of all the entire senior squad - enjoy!!!
And finally, with the C&Ws away at Welford road today fielding a patched up squad following 3 disastrous results, it is easy to see important a stable coaching/support team is if you want to succeed in any level of the game. In the early years of the Premiership Kingsholm was the place to be when we ran away with the league by 15 points but unfortunate changes of ownership and far too regular changes of the coaching team the recent results have been way below the supporters expectations despite the club being one of a very small number who regularly report a profit!!!
