Brace of Interceptions Floor Camberley

With four maximum point wins Camberley visited third placed locals Farnham in the derby match on Saturday.
Camberley kicked off but were soon under some Farnham pressure who missed an early penalty chance. Then a fine move out of defence set up by winger Mac Duabie led to a series of attacks but the resultant penalty award was also missed.
The first score went to hosts Farnham. At 11 minutes a quickly taken indirect penalty after a scrum infringement saw prop Andrew Naisbitt burst through for the try which was unconverted. Camberley soon fought back and were rewarded after some good moves with a penalty on 18 minutes converted by full back Dan Bright with the score then 5 – 3.
Play continued fairly even for the remainder of the first half but two strong attacks by Camberley were foiled by solid defence so the scoreline remained at 5 – 3 at half time.
Starting the second half well a fine move started by fly half Will O’Meara then a break by centre Tom Allen ended with a knock on at a real opportunity.
The game dramatically changed course to Farnham in a ten minute spell . After 6 minutes an attack by Camberley saw them break into the Farnham 22 then an interception by fly half Toby Salmon saw him sprint almost the length of the pitch for the second try unconverted.
Camberley immediately responded and a well earned penalty giving a kick to the corner led to the line out being frustratingly lost. Farnham were soon on attack and in 13 minutes the forwards saw the ball over for try number three to flanker Toby Comley also unconverted.
3 minutes later and a second interception in a move by Camberley out left in midfield saw the successful sprint for the line and a 20 – 3 scoreline and four home tries for the bonus point.
Despite the scoreline Camberley kept the impetus going with several useful moves ending in errors or sound Farnham defence. In the last few minutes a promising attack on the right fail to bring fruition and Farnham ended the match in Camberley territory missing a final penalty as the end approached.
Both sides were generally evenly matched but Farnham had fine defence and took their opportunities well for a deserved success. Camberley will rue some mistakes at crucial times having failed to score for the first time this season.
