The final pre season games for the 1s and 2s saw the Black and Ambers score 24 tries, conceding only one in their final pre season friendlies

With both the 1s and 2s commencing their 2016 League programme next week, visitors Tadley provided the opposition for Risey's 4th pre season game.
The 2s game started proceedings and it became very clear early on that the Squirrels simply had too much gas for their Berkshire rivals and that they were also far more skilful.
Scoring started within 5 mins with a try from a lineout drive and a second try was added directly from the restart when Musa's chip ahead rebounded into the arms of Wedgie who ran in from halfway.
Tries then seemed to come with some regularity with Tadley getting off the mark on 30 mins with a scrappy try in the corner.
Academy player Mua, who with another Academy player Shawa had outstanding games, then scored and Oli Nixon amd Musa completed the scoring in the first half.
The second half continued to be one sided despite the valiant efforts of the visitors and tries came at regular intervals until the ref called a halt to proceedings a tad early with the Squirrels winning by 13 tries to 1.

Attention then was focussed on the 1s pitch and almost from the off Cam showed their pace when centre Oyni blasted through a gap and made 30m but then failed to find Laz who was waiting to trot over. However the supporters did not have to wait too long as from the resulting 5m lineout the catch and drive was excellent leaving Jono with the simple task of dotting down.
The restart saw Cam again ship the ball wide and great interplay between Josh, Oyni, and Laz saw Jono again take the final pass to score and with Tom Dunn converting the score was 12-0 with only 5 mins played.
Again from the restart Cam made good ground and soon were scrumming down in the visitors 22 and a great turnover saw young #8 Mac pick up and force himself over from 15m and with the successful conversion the score moved on to 19-0.
With Cam always wanting to play their expansive game there was always the possibility of over elaboration (and therefore the odd mistake) and so the scoreboard was kept quiet for 10 mins but a visitors scrum on their 22 saw the black and ambers again turn it over and Mac then drove off the base of the scrum before feeding skipper Woody who, with 25m still to go had the presence of mind (probably due to lack of oxygen!!) to feed the Welsh Flyer Laz who dotted down. Tommy D managed to get the conversion to bounce on the crossbar although in fairness conditions with a strong crosswind were far from ideal for the #10.
In truth it was now all Camberley and the next try saw loosehead Ali, unselfishly, pop a perfect pass to fellow prop tight head Dave for him to make dot down from about a metre out under the posts.
Again, from the restart a great break by new boy Josh saw him take play deep into the visitors half before finding brother Ash for another converted try and on the stroke of halftime we saw role reversal when Ash set up brother Josh bringing the score to 43-0 at the break.
The second half inevitably became more scrappy as Gareth rang the changes and also most of the side saw this as an opportunity to get on the score sheet but the Wright boys were soon at it again when a great line by Ollie saw Ash again benefit with a try.
Again from the restart Cam came forward but when Ash butchered a pass we thought that the opportunity had been lost but to his credit he quickly recovered the ball and proceeded to power through the tiring opposition before handing the scoring pass to Jono.
Not to be out done by his brothers we then saw centre Ollie firstly spin out of a couple of attempted tackles to touch down and in the closing stages he collected a loose ball on half way and danced through the opposition to speed over for the final score of the afternoon.
Clearly a good workout for both squads with 40+ boys getting some useful game time and a number of the additions to the squad introducing themselves to the Watchetts supporters.
So next Saturday sees the start of proceedings for the 1s and 2s - the 1s travel to Portsmouth and the 2s are at home to Teddington with both games kicking off at 3.00
