What to Expect from Mini’s – A Message from Head Coach Marcus Green

Matthew O'Reilly

Fun, Safe & Learning Together – The U8 Way!

As our players move into the U8s, Head Coach Marcus Green has a simple message for parents: rugby should be fun, safe and a positive experience for every child.

Marcus and the coaching team will focus on developing the players’ rugby skills through games and activities that keep them active, engaged and enjoying their rugby. While learning the fundamentals of the game is important, just as important is helping the children develop confidence, teamwork and a love of being part of a team.

The U8s will also continue to follow the club’s TREDS themes, helping our young players understand the values and behaviours that make rugby such a great sport – both on and off the pitch.

“Our priority is simple – the children should have fun, feel safe and want to come back every week. We’ll develop their rugby skills, but we’ll also help them become confident, respectful and supportive teammates.”
— Marcus Green, U8 Head Coach

For parents, the message is equally simple: let the coaches coach, encourage the children and, most importantly, enjoy watching them play!

We’re looking forward to a fantastic season with our U8s
