We are deeply saddened to announce the sudden passing of one of our Camberley Women’s team members, Emma, at just 21 years old.
A keen and skilled rugby player, Emma had recently returned to the sport she loved after time away recovering from injury. We are honoured that she chose Camberley Women’s Rugby to reignite her rugby journey. Emma touched the hearts of everyone who knew her; she was, to borrow a fitting phrase, beautiful inside and out. Her warmth, kindness, and infectious smile will be profoundly missed by her teammates, coaches, and the wider club community.
In honour of Emma, we will hold a minute’s applause just before kick-off against Chobham Women on 22nd March. Her teammates will also wear green and yellow ribbons, her favourite colours, as a tribute to her memory.
We send our heartfelt condolences to Chris, Jack, Tia, Jemma, and all who knew and loved Emma.
Donations in Emma’s memory can be made to:
- Macmillan Cancer Support – www.macmillan.org.uk
- The Teenage Cancer Trust – https://www.justgiving.com/page/emmajolliffe?utm_source=CL&utm_medium=DT
Both charities played a vital role in supporting Emma’s family.
