Camberley Rugby U7s Round Off a Memorable Year with Festive Fun

From first tackles to festival rugby, a season of growth, teamwork and smiles

The Camberley Rugby U7s brought the curtain down on an eventful and rewarding year with a festive training session full of fun, games and a very special surprise visit from Father Christmas himself. It was a fitting way to celebrate a season that has marked an important milestone in the young players’ rugby journeys.

For many of the boys and girls, this year began in the club’s Kinder section before stepping up to U7s in September at the start of the new season. That transition has been a significant one, and it has been impressive to see how confidently the players have embraced new skills, structures and challenges. Alongside those progressing through the age groups, the squad has also welcomed a large number of new faces, including children with prior rugby experience as well as those completely new to the game.

The result is a thriving U7s group of more than 30 players, representing a wonderful mix of personalities, abilities, shapes and sizes. Throughout the season, the focus has remained firmly on enjoyment, inclusion and development, ensuring that every child feels supported and encouraged as they learn the fundamentals of rugby.

This season has also seen the U7s take their first steps into festival rugby and joint training sessions, providing valuable opportunities to play against other clubs, build confidence and experience the wider rugby community. These occasions have been an important part of the players’ development and have laid strong foundations for the rest of the season ahead. With more festivals and shared training planned for the second half of the year, there is plenty to look forward to.

The coaches would like to congratulate every player on their enthusiasm, progress and commitment, and to extend a sincere thank you to all parents and carers for their ongoing support. From ensuring children arrive at training ready to go, to transporting them to festivals and cheering them on from the sidelines, your involvement has been vital to the success of the season.

From everyone involved with the Camberley Rugby U7s, we wish all our players and families a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year, and we look forward to welcoming everyone back for more rugby, fun and development in the months ahead.
