Wins over Mere-Cats and Farnham on Finals Day

In the first match Camberley played the Mere-Cats (Old Cats and Haslemere). Early tries from Ben Mills, JLS and the superb Anish Goel. Harry Johnson converting 2 gave Camberley a 19 nil lead. Camberley then emptied the bench and made 6 changes and the crowd had to wait 10 minutes for the next tries with Alex Kwist and Kean Hamilton-Jones finishing off a comfortable 29 nil win.
Mere-Cats then entertained Farnham with the latter winning comfortably.
This set up the decider against Farnham. Farnham had first use of an hefty breeze but Camberley managed the game and possession well which resulted in tries from Ollie Davies and a blinder from Euan Murray who showed paced and power from 60 yards. Harry Johnson converting both tries. Farnham hit back with an unconverted try, 14-5 but on the stroke of half time Chris Lear crashed over with Harry Johnson converting brilliantly into the strong wind. HT 21-5. Camberley again made 6 changes but a poor start to the second half resulted in 2 converted Farnham tries leaving the score 21-19. With 3 minutes left Camberley secured the win with Euan Murray crashing through again to score under the sticks and Harry Johnson adding the extras. FT 28-19.
Great to see Camberley bring a squad of 21 players a mixture of regular players, university players and returning players. Thanks also to 1st XV captain Chris Brid and BLS for coaching the team on the day and the Senior Operations Team for the Professional look.
See you all at pre season in July. Sam Voight will be in touch.
