On the 16th of March, Camberley U15 Pinks went over to Esher RFC for The Stoop Cup Semi Finals game. The Sun was shining with a little bit of wind on Esher’s first team pitch.
Camberley started the scoreboard ticking with William B spinning past the final defender to score the game's first points. Chester P playing outside centre converted the point. Camberley 7 Esher 0.
Esher responded to Cambo's fast start scoring their first try of the game but missing the conversion leaving Camberley ahead. Camberley 7 Esher 5.
Seemingly taking turns to score Chester P got his first try of the day just after half time bumping off a defender to score in the corner. Camberley 12 Esher 5.
The home side refused to stay behind scoring two tries in very quick succession converting one. This then put Esher ahead for the first time in the game. Camberley 12 Esher 17.
Following Esher’s flurry of points, Chester P scored his second try of breaking the line after a strong Camberley scrum put Esher on the back foot before then slotting the conversion kick through the posts. Camberley 19 Esher 17.
Both teams enjoyed the fast-paced attacking rugby, with Esher breaking Camberley’s defense to score their next try. Camberley 19 Esher 22.
Regaining the lead Chester P scores his 3rd try for the hat-trick putting Camberley ahead. Camberley 26 Esher 22.
However, the home side had the final say in the game scoring the final try of the day which they then converted. FT Camberley 26 Esher 29.
Overall a tantalizingly close finish to the game, with Camberley unlucky to get on the right side of the scoreboard. It was a good game of rugby with plenty of tries and team play.
