Camberley Autumn Festival - U8's

The new season for the U8's started in spectacular fashion. A combination of sunshine and an influx of new members to the squad meant that for the first home festival of the season we put out 4 full squads to play against Sutton, Guildford, Old Regiatians, and Dorking.

Being the second season of festivals for many of the team meant that friendly team faces (and rivalries!) are starting to form and whilst a couple of the travelling squads were delayed getting to Camberley, all the kids were able to get stuck into some competitive games.

It was great to see the newer members of the team getting stuck in and the all the team pulling together on the pitch. It was the demonstration of the games core values that resulted in a fantastic all round festival and we're sure a really positive start to the season.

Whilst all the teams played with enjoyment and respect , each coach did manage to highlight a player of the festival.

For Team Black, Sophie in just her 3rd weekend at the club demonstrated Enjoyment, playing with a smile on her face and showing some great tagging skills.
Camberley Gold's Austin showed great teamwork, moving the ball through the squad , which was recognised by everyone he played with.
Will's sportsmanship was evident when playing against a team which was down a player. He was asked to play for the opposition which he did without hesitating and with the utmost professionalism.
And for Team White, Aiden's sportsmanship and respect was clear after a he tagged a player in the act of scoring - after the ref explained the reason for the decision to award the try he acknowledged it, turned to the player and shook his hand.
