With the Turf games happening this weekend all efforts will be back to the bikes for the Cambo Charity Ride

An update from Tom Chennell

So with 4 weeks remaining the charity team have been ticking over on 2 wheels with 2,295.7 training miles completed between the team of 7- even Brizzle has manage to put rubber to road and finally push out some miles. Greg is still a bit dizzy after multiple loops around the training track in Aldershot after smashing out 30 miles on a 1mile loop. The girls have been ticking over nicely with 971.8 miles completed between them.

For the lads the Turf Games has been a priority over the last couple of weeks as they prepare to compete on Saturday July 2nd at Ealing Trailfinders, but once complete the cycling will take over again during the build up to the start of the event.

The team would like to give last year's u8s squad and their squad manager Anna a big shout out for helping to raise some money by purchasing pizzas at their summer get together a couple of weeks ago. Another thanks goes to the wider Camberley Rugby Community who also helped raise some funds by purchasing pizzas at the summer Party in the Park.

A bit more planning is required to confirm pit stops and the route with Dave Dunsby (Tweedledum) who will be the driver of the support vehicle . The team are very grateful for Dave committing time to help out with the challenge. The next team ride and probably the last one is scheduled for the 16th July.

Finally the Team are having a charity Evening at the club on 23rd July, where there will be multiple fund raising events including a hang tough challenge, a raffle with some great prizes to be won and finally the lads are donating themselves to have their bodies waxed in order to be as streamlined as possible for the ride. So if you fancy seeing some pain, come down and purchase a strip to slap on a leg. There will be a happy hour at the club so keep a look out for more details to follow.... (This looks like a night not to be missed

Currently the team are at 40% of their target total that they are looking to raise so if you could spare some pennies please follow the link below.
