Cambo enter Turf Games

With only 3 weeks remaining until the start of Turf Games 2022, we recently saw some of the 10 competitors get together in brilliant sunshine at Watchetts Park to rehearse some of the potential team challenges that lie ahead of them.

So what are the Turf Games you may ask – well having taken a look at the sort of challenges that the teams face it clearly is something only the super fit and/or crazy gym bunnies can consider.
The games are split into 3 ability levels, Everyday, Intermediate and Elite with male, female and mixed teams of 5. The competition involves a range of tests which teams will perform during the day (many of which I don't understand)
With numbers doubling this year, the Camberley Aggressively Average Circuit Club (I'm not sure where they get these names from??) have entered 2 teams for this gig which will be taking place at Ealing Trailfinders ground on July 2nd.

Clearly some planning has gone into the event this time round as our selection has apparently been based on height and so we have teams Tall and Short (is that actually allowed in these days of PC??)
Although they have a one club, one team ethos, both short and tall teams will be secretly wanting the edge over one another which will no doubt spice things up even more.
Team Short is made up of Ozzie Greg, Tom Chennell, Shawa, Josh Thundercliffe and Callum McTaggart while Team Tall consists of Voighty, Ian Vanders, BLS, Ben Harrison and Brizzle.

The competition is on 2nd July, look out for updates and images on the club's Insta page throughout the day. You never know what you might see!!!.

For our regular supporters who spend winter weekends in pink blazers please don't worry about the complexity of the event or the rules as there will be plenty of opportunity to imbibe.
