The U-12's B team put in some great performances at the Sutton & Epsom festival this morning, showing real grit and determination to take 2nd place.

Having gone into the break against a very well drilled Chobham team, Cam came out for the 2nd half a changed side. Although 15 minutes of sustained, intense pressure failed to result in a score, the final whistle could not come soon enough for Chobham, who successfully managed to hold Cam up over the try line twice to hold onto their lead and take the points.

Next up, Sutton & Epsom, and the signs didn't look promising. S&E had just held Chobham to a 0-0 draw after 30 minutes of rugby, and had beaten the same Camberley side only 7 days ago.

How wrong can we be ?

The Camberley front 6 dominated right from the first whistle, and some superb defensive work from an exceptionally well disciplined back line meant 15 minutes later the half time scoreboard read 24-0 to Cam, thanks to tries from James Gardner (2), Josh Winton and Nathaniel Hill, and conversions from Oscar Chandler and Ben Mills.

S&E came back strongly in the 2nd half, scoring and converting two quick tries, and threatened to spoil the party by crossing the line again, only to be held up by some great (and bloody) defensive work by both George Castle and Ethan Sparrow. Following a great scrum on our own 5 yard line against the head, Cam then proceeded to pile the pressure back on the opposition before Ben Mills put the game out of their reach after a well worked try in the corner following on from a penalty for not releasing.

Final score 31-14, and a great turn around following on from the result only 7 days earlier.

The difference today was some great tackling by every single member of the team, some great commitment in the rucks, and some crisp clean passing down the line, but most importantly, a belief that the results this team so thoroughly deserved were only 1 match away.

Well done to all !!

The team today was captained by James Castle and Oscar Chandler.
