Training with Chobham

With a fantastic turnout from both Camberley and their visitors Chobham this week, there was a definite crowded park and a great atmosphere everywhere we looked.
The U8 squads were mixed together as usual with both sets of players mingling immediately as though they'd known each other for ages.
Six sets of players were formed each with their own tasks to perform, such as tagging, passing, bulldog, etc. Particularly impressive was the handling when passing and catching the ball, definite progress has been made in this area over the last few weeks.
Great fun was had when the coaches got everybody lined up in groups, holding hands and running forwards up the pitch and then backwards to the starting point. The (serious?) aim of this was to make everybody think about working together in line across the pitch when attacking and then defending.
After the session had finished the Chobham coach told everybody how he always enjoyed coming to Camberley, particularly when playing in what was always a 'crunch' match. After that three cheers were given to Chobham by the Camberley squad and Chobham then returned the compliment very well.
Award winners this week (pictured) were Harry Jackson - Brilliant Effort, Henry Sandells - Star of the Week, Josh Allibone - Great Effort. Well done to them and to all who made the day a great one.
