A win against superior numbers.

Arriving with 13 players this was always going to be a tough game. An additional player arrived so we had 14, however another arrived who could not play so back to 13. The opposition were very accommodating and displayed a great willingness to play have fun and learn. The agreed to loan us one forward (prop) and a back. Dylan who propped for us in the first half was great, he put all the effort in as if he was one of us, thanks Dylan.
The game was evenly matched despite us running in tries quite quickly and in short order, however after the initial flurry both sides settled down and played hard rugby. The game was ours in the first half and probably evenly split in the second. The players had to work hard for extended periods with out the regular players around to fill in our game plan. Despite the situation our nine ten combination work pretty well with Seb and Tim swapping roles depending on the situation. The centre pairing of Michael and Luke worked well and showed signs of possibly being a great partnership, that could further out ambition to be able to attack effectively in the number 2 channel. Forward play was good going forward, despite numerous runs by forwards completely unsupported often resulting in unnecessary turnovers. In defence both backs and forwards could have done more and worked to keep the defence solid.
Each played stepped up and did they part in what was always going to be a bit of a scrappy game, well done guys. If we continue to develop like we are and with a full squad we are without doubt going to do well this season. Our host enjoyed our game and have asked if they can have another friendly "run at us" some time in the future, which is a great indication of there regard for us as a squad.
Man of the Match was Matthew Wally
